5 things that bring me joy this week

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

I said on my Instagram stories that this past weekend was a good one. We didn’t really do anything special as we found ourselves with no plans. Oh, wait, we did! We decided to go to a museum I’ve been wanting to visit for a while, and once we got there, we found that a vintage market of sorts was taking place.

Needless to say, we didn’t make it into the museum, and instead, spent a few hours perusing the goods. Yup… We ended up finding two vintage cigar boxes (empty, of course!), a nice wooden side table (I wish we found two of them), and a few books. The total cost was… $32! Gotta love vintage markets! The rest of the weekend we took it easy: worked on a few things and drove around our new neighborhood amazed at some of the houses.

Here are the 5 things that are bringing me joy this week:

  • coffee! The time change manages to throw us off every single time. It is a huge change going from waking up with the sunrise, to waking up completely in the dark. We were really confused on Monday and kept checking the time… Anyway, needless to say, coffee sure brings joy this week.

  • the longer days, or evenings, I should say. This is always the upside of the time change. I still abhor this “habit” of going forward and backward with our clocks and wish fervently that we’d stop doing it, but longer days bring joy, I won’t deny it.

  • my new Sarah Flint shoes. I love them, it’s that simple, so of course they’re bringing me lots of joy.

  • Sweetgreen. We’re late to the party but I think they only recently opened in our area and I’m so glad they did. I’m really happy to have an option for healthy eating — we haven’t found too many around here. Tip: download their app and create an account for extra deals and menu items.

  • cooler weather. And finally, it’s been so nice having a few cooler days (even though it’s too cold for me today but I’m loving the unexpected rain). It’s mostly been a very warm winter here in Florida and it feels good giving our A/C (and electricity bill) a full day’s break — the poor thing will have to work nonstop soon enough...

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
