Christmas in Florida

It doesn’t get more idyllic than a scene of snow-covered trees, with Christmas lights reflecting all around. In fact, I dream of being part of such a scene, even if for a short while. Alas, that’s not something that occurs in Florida (and thank God for that because that’s not the reason we live here!), so we make do with what we have… and we’re doing it pretty well!

For seasonal festivities, if you find yourself in the area, make sure you check the lights in downtown Tampa at Curtis Hixon Park and the Tampa Riverwalk and Water Works Park or, if you dare brace the cold, take the Pirate Water Taxi and enjoy the River of Christmas Lights. You might also want to drive thru Tampa Bay’s Festival of Lights and Santa’s Village at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds, and check the holiday lights at the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo (watch out for gators, including babies!). Do make sure you stroll through St. Pete’s downtown and waterfront and check out Enchanted at the Tropicana Field, to name a few.

Enjoy a Florida version of Christmas, aka, a green, most times sunny, summer dress as an outfit, warm day (even if that’s not our reality right now)!

Have a Merry, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
